The way these turbos are mated to the engine, the vehicles practically make peak tq off idle. So, it's not like you can cruise around making no power and sipping gas. With that said, I do like the eb f-150's, and am all for more turbo applications(it can only get better).

Ford has never been on top of the mpg game, though they are definitely improving. It was nothing for me to easily get 30mpg in my stock C5 cruising 80mph. Averaged 33mpg once from Cincinnati to Columbus. My dad's iroc back in the 80's routinely got 23-25. GM has, historically/domestically speaking, always been king of mpg.

Ford is shooting for 26 mpg in their new base v-6 f-150. Accomplishing a good bit of it with lightweight materials. I've got one word for them...Pentastar.

thinking a water-based heat-exchanger is going to deliver water-vapor into the intake charge is like thinking a water softener is going to leave the water with a salty taste.

I was more worried about when it is nice and cold and the car is shut off and parked...all that water is going to collect somewhere... I'm probably just over thinking it.

I'm sure you are but no problem with questioning certain methods. I'm sure they have taken that into consideration though.

many many cars have water to air intercooler mounted in a similar fashion its nothing new.
toyota gt4 and subaru legacy for example had very similar intercooler setups in the 80's...
