BIG difference, it should be in the Camaro and the Holden(bigger if).
Taurus SHO would be a valid comparo.

Um somebody that wants a good power to mileage ratio? Why do you think so many cars are running turbo now?

I think wing means who has mpg way up top the list if you're shopping for a TT car. I went and drove a new SHO recently that I considered buying. MPG was a factor for me in deciding not to purchase, but that's only because I drive a lot...a lot a lot. But, it wasn't anywhere on my mind when I was eyeballing the car. I was after the power.

Why are they putting the ecoboost in trucks that normally require a V8 to me useful? Why are very small engines being mated with a turbo? So you can get better mileage out of a smaller engine but keep the power when you need it. So when somebody buys a 6cyl turbo they want the power of a V8 but don't spend as much in gas.

Not to mention, finally gas-powered truck owners can increase power exponentially for little money with bolt-on's like the diesel guys. Turbocharged vehicles offer that wonderful golden apple versus N/A vehicles in general, but when your powerband is crucial for utilitarian endeavors rather than jolly-dicking around in pursuit of speeding tickets it becomes a whole new ball-game.

Well the big reason turbo failed in the past is it was pretty unreliable. Technology these days can design, balance and basically build a better turbo. Hell the US couldn't build them worth a shit in the 80's but now...whole new ball game.

The eb does about as well as my 8,000lb+ Escalade. Guys I know with eb's are reporting 18-19 highway. That's exactly what I get with my big ass v-8 that's nearly twice the inch. The way these turbos are mated to the engine, the vehicles practically make peak tq off idle. So, it's not like you can cruise around making no power and sipping gas. With that said, I do like the eb f-150's, and am all for more turbo applications(it can only get better).

Ford has never been on top of the mpg game, though they are definitely improving. It was nothing for me to easily get 30mpg in my stock C5 cruising 80mph. Averaged 33mpg once from Cincinnati to Columbus. My dad's iroc back in the 80's routinely got 23-25. GM has, historically/domestically speaking, always been king of mpg.

Ford is shooting for 26 mpg in their new base v-6 f-150. Accomplishing a good bit of it with lightweight materials. I've got one word for them...Pentastar.
