"I don't actually work on cars, I just talk about them on the internet."
interesting. good to know, thanks!
rise and rise again until lambs become lions

Do you have my phone number Nate? Something tells me an hour on the phone with a linked desktop will do you some wonders.
i do not, ill shoot you a pm

I generally find when the car is really fighting me while tuning that there is something really wrong. For instance I had a random high idle again recently and I thought the ISC was bad or it was because of weather change, but it turns out my krank vent burst the stock pcv line, so I had a big vacuum leak.

A lot of people really don't understand that if you have a mechanically perfect setup, the flash ECU is literally plug and play. That video I did of my 99 VR4 starting was literally the first time cranking that car since assembling it. All the changes done were shown on the video. There were absolutely no drivability issues at all.
the problem that i face is, even with a mechanically perfect setup (which i fully admit mine isnt, but its close) i am still running an ecu that is not made for my engine... at all. technically there isnt an ecu made for my specific engine. i am fine with tuning around issues, however, its hard to distinguish between issues and just the fact that my engine has so many unknown variables when it comes to tuning on a flash ecu.
yeah i dont underestimate it at all, i am just saying that there are a lot of factors that im up against that 99% of 3s owners probably wont deal with (although there is information to be taken from it that can be applied to the factory 3.0L's). between the extra displacement, the maf i am using, the turbos i have, the amount my heads flow, and the rpm i am going to spin it at there are just a very small amount, a handful, of people in the 3s world that will ever run their engine like that.
i wouldnt have bought it and spent so much time on it if i didnt think it could work![]()
