Car will crank but not start sometimes......

I'm getting frustrated with this.

My car will crank but not start sometimes, and when it does start its fine as long as it's in neutral running idle. As soon as I put it into 1st gear it dies, sometimes that tach goes nuts before it dies. I had the ignition coil changed recently because the wires were shot and blew the fuse for the coil. All that was done was spliced in new wiring, new fuse, new coil. That's it, nothing more. It ran great for a week then all this started. I'll turn the key and it'll start up right away and die in gear or it won't start up at all, just crank. I checked my spark plugs and they look fine. It happens so random that I don't trust to take my car on the road anymore. Any ideas, I'm starting to think I need to get rid of this car but I really don't want to. Thanx guys.
