Yeah of course it was primed, but you would've noticed the blocked return when no oil came out the returns.

Just looped with a spare oil cooler hose.... They have the same banjo fitting on each end.

Hmm don't have a spare hose. I guess a big ass bolt for the temp switch would be good too.

It doesn't HAVE to be a spare... You could use one of the ones from the car. I just usually already have the cooler and hoses mounted, and it's easier and faster not to fight with the end at the cooler.

I don't mean to laugh at you Bill but

The only thing I'd worry about is an access of oil being in the seal and crusting up over several heat cycles and wearing out the seal but I worry about stuff too much at times. At least you know what the problem is now.
