I was just banned from Bob is the Oil Guy

Today has been interesting for me.

I was just perma banned from Bob is the Oil Guy.

This thread popped up on my Google Alerts for hydrotex today at work;

Hydrotex Essentialube - Bob Is The Oil Guy

So I went on there, read some asinine comments and miss information about Hydrotex. I answered questions and corrected the missinformation and was hit with a perma ban.

So, just because I work for the company I cannot comment on the discussion?

Granted most of the posts have been deleted. But I find it funny. I was not selling or advertising, but answering questions about company and products that people were asking questions about.

So, now the big question. I got perma banned and no option to contact Helen to even become a sponsor if I were inclined.

The banned our whole network IP, I can only get to the site now through my cell phone.

Son of a monkey! I'm just pissed now. I was not active on that board, but have used to for a resource over years!

WTF!? Anyone have any contact with the admin there? I'd like to at least discuss this with Helen like an adult instead of being hit with a ban stick.

As a site admin that seems like a dumb response.

I always contact people before kicking them out. If someone should be a sponsor banning them first is the wrong way to start the process.

That was what I was thinking. If they wanted me to be a sponsor to continue the discussion shouldn't they have contacted me prior to banning the whole IP. Even logged out I can't access the site on the network here in the office. My cell phone I can, which is how I know they deleted over half of the thread.

Just seemed like a bass ackwards way to go about it by instantly banning me for not being a sponsor.
