400AWHP is a ton of fun, I would start there. I'm having so much fun with my setup at just 15 PSI that I am losing the itch to turn up the boost right now and tune for e85.

oh and I would not try to make 600AWHP on TD04 turbos and 93 + meth. It can be done, but you are walking a fine line. if you want to make that much power run e85 or bigger frame turbos.
The car is black. I thought that the dr 750 turbos were dynod at just over 600hp on pump gas with a totally stock motor? Why would i need bigger turbos? If i dont hit 600 hp it wont bug me. I just want good solid streetable hp. I hear you building motor up and adding turbos and etc latter

they have hit 600 on pump + meth on a stock engine. I would not run it that hard as any little quality problem with your gas could cause a lot of detonation and break a piston. Bigget turbos can make more power at more pump gas friendly boost levels. It is hard to run much more than 15 PSI with TD04 turbos on straight 93 octane on our cars.
We dont have e85 where i live. Is it expensive? Im moving to Denver though...

Denver should have some stations. It is normally 2/3 the price of 93, but you get about 2/3 the gas mileage, so it is a wash pricewise. It will allow you to run race gas type boost/timing levels though.
So that sounds fine to me. But now that im looking at probably havimg to wait on turbos. Whole budget will be blown before i get to put bigger turbos on. Just going to build everything else up and turn up the boost, tune for e85 and save for some dr750s fmic meth and etc... i need to have a running driving painted car for 10k, maybe i can fudge a few grand higher but it wont be 15k plus 4k in paint.
be the first to break 400whp on 9B's
:-) works for me. I dont have unrealistic expectations. Just a budget to look good, re liable, and fast as possible for my budget. Still beats my current ride. A tuned 99 powerstroke. Lucky if with the 300hp to the wheels to run 17's. Lol

High HP = big bucks
The truth is, I bet you'd be perfectly happy with a mild turbo like a 13T with a few basic mods and spending your $$ on a quality restoration job (not just engine and paint but all wearable parts like steering racks, bushings, etc...). A car that you can go out into, turn the key and drive worry-free is worth more than one that sets records.
I see it time and time again where guys dream big and wallets come up short. Cars are put together half-assed, don't perform, leak fluids, constant headaches... All the $$ was spent on huge turbos, fuel system, exhaust and corners were cut every possible way from everything else.
Its a very demotivating site to see over and over. Especially if the car never comes down off jack stands.
When you get a chance, look underneath your car at the area where the floor board meets the back seats. See rust holes? Its common on the late model cars as they skipped out on underbody coating. That 2k paint job can easily turn into 10-12k on its own.
Don't think big with your build. You're still new. There's nothing wrong with mild turbos and basic upgrades. Start at your level and grow from there. We got plenty of DR750/650 cars that are "works in progress" and always will be.
