Those, who stand for nothing, will fall for anything.
On the Internet you can be anything you want. It's strange that so many people choose to be stupid.

I do think GB internet is a little over-kill to be honest. Something around LTE speeds in cable form so you always have a signal would be ideal...I don't really know what you'd need to stream that requires anything more than 20-30mb/s

the key is...first you have to provide ALL americans an acceptable high-speed internet offering. i consider 30Mbps fair, and 100Mbps ample. the problem is, the higher quality you stream, the more bandwidth it's going to take--and media only keeps improving.

Well you must be glad you don't live in rural Saskatchewan - the fastest Internet we can get is 2Mbps. I usually use my phone and even that's rarely over 5Mbps.

We follow the earth. The earth follows the stars. The stars know their way and though the body dies. The stars will remain, like the waves of the sea and restless slate.

that's my point. first we talk about broader coverage--and ESPECIALLY eliminating monopolies--and then we'll talk about "how much is enough".

goddamn telecoms are fucking greedy as hell in the USA.

"CDs? I don't really see the point in needing more than a 3 1/2" floppy drive. I mean, who is going to need more than 1.44 megabytes of storage?" - You in 1988.

let's not forget that time-warner is also a CONTENT OWNER. which means that pushing for throttled internet is a backhanded method of theirs serving twofold purpose:

    1. it means they have to spend less infrastructure & can spend more on corporate bonuses, etc. legal monopolies give them relative immunity from price-fixing & shitty service.

    2. throttled internet--at least in the minds of these numbnuts--means that people will have a more difficult time pirating, and/or will be caught easier.

nevermind the fact that to LEGALLY access their media--i have to use a VPN service, because of the vice they have netflix's balls in.
