Regarding our MAF and the MAF translator with chrome

So when you run a maf translator, it converts the GM MAF signal into a signal our ecu can understand by pretending to be a stock 3000gt maf sensor.

and due to the 1byte limitation, we would still be maxed out to ~450hp with it set up like this.

but they make the maf translator for the evo 8/9, which (i assume) imitates the pulses of the evo maf sensor.

so, couldnt we install the evo 8/9 maf translator and set the chrome settings to the evo maf settings? to get over the horsepower limitation.

    No.

The MAFT shows less airflow than the stock MAF so you're, in a sense, lying to the ECU. You can still make HP as its just a matter of tuning the tables to give your desired AFR but you gotta make a lot more power before running into that wall.

interesting. i didnt know the maft when set to 360cc sent different frequencies than a stock maf would.

Yep. The car will start, run, and drive but you'll notice the trims will be all over the place. There's quite a bit of fine tuning that needs to be done. Toni car has some throttle hang issues too which I need to figure out but I believe that to be more the result of running the MAF in blow thru as opposed to draw thru.

i have my 3.5" maf in blow through as well, and what my car has since the chrome ecu install is really lean tip-in. no throttle hang that i can tell. but that may also be because i found out today that my idle switch is broken and never registers as being on

my mid trims are only +8% on the front bank and -2% on the rear.

as soon I get the tps taken care of I'll start working on the zeroing out the trims. but the car seems to be running fine so far!

I noticed the idle switch log request works intermittently. Been trying to figure out why. I think it has to do with the request priority. Really want to fix that for the next version because people are replacing their TPSs thinking its busted.

If you log timing at idle and see it jumping around that means the idle switch is working.

You can fix the lean throttle tip in easily by upping the numbers in the TPS delta table.

that's...interesting. I guess I will physically test it with an ohm meter tomorrow.
