Another M2 Exhaust Question specifically about the downpipe

I've searched but haven't found this answered. I'm in search of an inexpensive downpipe to get me by for now. I have a Stillen style but I plan on going back with pre-cat elim/o2 tubes and an HKS cat back and Maximal high flow cat. The Stillen will have to go unless I cut and weld which I don't want. I'm hearing good things about the M2 system so I thought maybe I'll just get that and have an extra cat back on hand and can pick from the one with the sound I like. So my question is, if I want to save money and just get the downpipe, what's different between the M2 that comes with the full exhaust, and a CXRacing DP, or a OBX, or any of those eBays, or Ninja's for that matter? They all look the same. Are they all made by the same company?

I don't see why you can't run the Stillen? It already has the front pre-cat eliminator and you would just need a rear eliminator. As far as replacing it, as long as the merge is set up the right way it probably won't make much a difference which DP you go with.

I can't say about OBX, as it looks like they have 2 different styles (??), but everything else is the same.

It's the same downpipe that is sold separately, as the one included with the M2/CXRacing, etc exhaust.

Thanks Emilie, that's what I thought but wanted to make sure I would be getting the same DP if I ordered separate or as part of the whole exhaust. Now the question is, does anybody have any feedback on how the fitment is with DNP pre-cat eliminators?

I just put one on a 94 Cali car, so I had to install the downstream O2 sensors. I was a little disappointed in the locations of the bungs. The front one pointed down at an angle enough that I was worried about it getting whacked on a lowered car, the rear one was not in the factory location either, it was down low where it would most likely not be isolated to the rear bank. (might actually be an advantage for someone who wanted to put a wideband there.)

It also hit the subframe and required clearance grinding to make it fit. Wasn't too happy about that.

Otherwise it fit up well and didn't leak. (unlike the first one of them I tried to use a couple years ago that wasn't even close to fitting up to the factory precats.)

'94 Fed spec here so not concerned about the extra bung holes but I'm gonna have my subframe members powder coated so not too excited about the thought of grinding on them.
