2013 Mustang 5.0 Kill

My car is basically BPU@14psi with the mods in my sig. My buddy just picked up a 2013 Mustang 5.0 with the brembo package. I kept telling him how he was going to walk me and he begged to race me before I do a turbo swap.

We dropped down to 40mph on the highway for 2 rolls. First time he was in 4th for some reason and I was in 3rd at 3,000 rpm. I jump a car instantly and start slowly pulling, by 120mph he was at my back bumper and pulling hard.

2nd time, I was in 2nd gear at 4,500rpm and he was in third. I jumped him a car again and pulled, he reeled me in and was at my door at 120mph.

Its not so much a kill as it was I thought he would kill me and didnt. Now, I need to throw on the rest of my supporting mods and pick up some billet DR650's.

I'm a bit surprised he couldn't pull on you quicker than that.

I think some of it was the driver mod. He went from a 07 Civic Ex to the Mustang, his first RWD car. At the same time though, I know he can shift quick, Ive ridden with him. He had full traction as well.

My brother has the same car! That car should eat you for breakfast. You must be getting the jump and he is in the WRONG gear! Those cars are geared tall also.

287 awhp vs. 400 chp (probably around 350 rwhp). this shouldn't have been a contest...especially from a roll. maybe you should switch cars and try again. he might need to know how much driver mod he really requires.

I agree completely with you guys. Thats why we ran them twice. Ill take a video next time but Im just as confused as you are. Anybody should be able to drive that car fast in a straight line.

At 40mph the mustang should be in 2nd gear not 4th

Sounds like you hit the gas first the he responded to your acceleration, and he was in the wrong gear again.
