well i already have a fuze+ on its way. guess we'll see how i like it. the reviews on it seem to be that the control mechanism is a bit sub-par, but still a decent device.

for the price, i could buy 10 of them before i paid for an ipod.

The iPhone is pretty efficient at playing music if the screen is off. Pandora is another question though. I use both in the car where I have a charging dock.

I think it depends on other factors too. I work in a big metal building which loves to eat signal and I can kill a battery doing nothing in a work day if I don't run JuiceDefender.

I have a Sansa Fuze i have been using for several years. Nice thing on it is it has a microSD slot for easy expansion. Mines a 4gb I think, but its like 3-4 years old, and I have a 4gb card in it as well. Personally I'd not spend over about $100 on such a device (mine was about $50 back then). Has a screen and simple navigation and will random across the entire music catalog or within artist/album/etc. The "random all" was a pretty big thing for me.

yes, being able to expand to 32gb micro sd is a big plus in my book. and i can always swap out cards if i have more music than will fit on one card. i think i spent $75 total on the player & sd card & case for the fuse+.
