    Need an MP3 Player

    Ok, here goes.

I've NEVER had an MP3 player. I've survived on cd's for years (mp3 format songs). Years ago, I'd looked into it, but the capacities were so small that the cost (vs. cd's) wasn't really worth it. Having a car stereo that was compatible with MP3's was sufficient.

Well now I'm in Germany, and my stock POS radio in my Kia has bit the dust. So not only am I exercising without music (standard) but now I'm commuting without it. I'm going into music withdrawal.

I'm looking for a SMALL (physical form factor) MP3 player with a LARGE capacity. I really don't want or need a fancy screen (I'm content with LCD monochrome display). I have no desire to own anything by Apple (big surprise). I'd like to keep the price under $200. A bonus would be compatibility with .flv playback (audio only is fine)--because I can rip songs off youtube that way.

    Help me out, guys/gals.

I'm not a fan of Apple either, but from what I've seen, they still make the best MP3 players out there. If you can find a 6th gen iPod Nano used on Ebay or Amazon, you could get most of the features you want in a very small sized player. And since you'd be buying it used, Apple doesn't get any of your money.

$250 for used...um....even if i could stomach apple & the thought of their storage crapping out (which DOES happen frequently) that's a hard sell.

i'm trying to understand here. i can get a 32GB sd card for less than $20, but yet i've got to pay HUNDREDS for a 32GB mp3 player? Am I missing an entire market segment here, or is there really nothing "budget minded" out there? That cube costs $20. I don't get it.

You have to scroll down to the used and refurbished, only the new ones are that much. It's obvious though, you're not willing to give an iPod a chance.

As much as I loathe Apple myself, there is no disputing the Ipod is the king of the MP3 player market. I need to find me a good used Ipod Classic.

i have seen 4 drive failures with my own eyes (various models)--all friends of mine. nor am i interested in cracked screens/cases. i may be biased, but there is merit behind it. and even buying used means that i'm rewarding some schmuck who IS buying apple.

My Fiance and both my sisters have this:

    http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Sansa-...isk+Sansa+Clip

8GB with micros sd slot that can use up to a 32gb card I believe. Nothing fancy but it works well plus the battery life is awesome.
