First off stay away from phpBB. It is too easily hacked and is the most targeted Forum softwares for spammers/hackers due to it's many security holes. If your looking for a decent forum software look into Simple Machines Forum. Simple Machines Forum - Free & open source community software

That is what I used on the Carolinas3s.org and Colorado3s.org forums. When Colorado3s got large enough I moved up to vbulletin which will cost about $100+ for a license.

    Check it out on Youtube!!

I'll second that. Keeping phpBB secure is a pain. I have on and its getting converted to VB as soon as I have the time.

PHPBB can be made secure, just takes a lot of plugins, correct settings and knowing what your doing. Search on the PHPBB forum and look at how others are securing their forums.

One thing I know that really secured mine when I used it was removing the PHPBB version and footer info. Bots scan for that info and that is what tells them you are a prime candidate for hacking attempts as those items right there tell the world what software the forum is running.

Jeff: just fixed it for you. The test forum is back up and running if you want to keep playing with it.
