    Wheel Attention Thread

So I just got new wheels as some of you now and I like them a lot except for THIS ONE

after rubbing it with some cleaner and a rag and hitting it with the pressure washer at the car wash It is still there...if I rub it really hard with my finger little tiny amounts come off..

Does anyone have some tips for cleaning these...The lip has some crap on it too that will not come off...This is the only wheel like this...

Looking for something people KNOW works...

Also there is some grime on my exhaust tip that will not come off either, wouldn't mind some suggestions with that too!

I think its Caked on Brake Dust, it cleans off if you rub it really hard with a microfiber rag or just your finger...

the lip is probably rust.corrosion tho...

Somebody ran their brakes down to metal on metal and ran it for a bit. The metal built up on the rims and they didn't clean them so they rusted.

I'd say that's why only one wheel has it, because that was the one that had the worn pads. I'm not sure there is a lot you can do about it.

You can repolish the lip? LOL, pretty easy. My volks started getting like that after I unknowingly used some really harsh wheel cleaner for like a year. Hit them with some polishing compound on drill mounted pad and bam, good as new.

I think it has some kind of clear on them. Pretty sure he will have to sand them down a little 1st. After that he should be able to polish them to look like a mirror.

I've used acetone to clean the backside of my wheels. (Yes, I even clean the backs of my wheels, Lol!) Might be worth a try on yours. Just don't use a lot all at once. A little goes a long way.
