Has anyone ever had issues with a boomslang/patch cable?
Background story:
I just recently got an Emanage unit and it came with a ecu harness. It was pretty hacked up so first thing I did was went through an soldered/wrapped all of the cut wires and re-wired in the Emanage. Did a continuity test on all wires and they were all good.
Take it out to hook it into the car and on the first try the car starts but middle coil pack no spark. So I pull the harness and double check the wiring. Everything is good. Go back out and now the car will not fire up. No spark to any of the packs.
So I go in and bypass the ignition wiring on the Emanage so it is using just the stock ECU and still the car will not fire. So I bypass the injector harness addition and still nothing. I unplug the Emanage completely and put in a jumper for the MAF signal. Still nothing. I unplug the patch cable now thinking the Stock ECU is dead and plug it directly into the stock harness. Car fires right up......
I now go in and remove all emanage wiring and set the patch harness back to stock. Continuity test all pins/wires again and they are all good. Go back out and try just the patch cable and same thing, Car will not fire!!
I'm lost at this point with this harness and don't know if anyone has any opinions on this. The issue is not with the Emanage harness but the Boomslang patch cable harness. It's just extension wires, so if it passes continuity tests then I would think it would work. Only thing I can think of now is one of the pin connectors inside the plug is just not making contact with the ECU pin....
