Bad Boomslang/Patch harness - Emanage Blue

Has anyone ever had issues with a boomslang/patch cable?

    Background story:

I just recently got an Emanage unit and it came with a ecu harness. It was pretty hacked up so first thing I did was went through an soldered/wrapped all of the cut wires and re-wired in the Emanage. Did a continuity test on all wires and they were all good.

Take it out to hook it into the car and on the first try the car starts but middle coil pack no spark. So I pull the harness and double check the wiring. Everything is good. Go back out and now the car will not fire up. No spark to any of the packs.

So I go in and bypass the ignition wiring on the Emanage so it is using just the stock ECU and still the car will not fire. So I bypass the injector harness addition and still nothing. I unplug the Emanage completely and put in a jumper for the MAF signal. Still nothing. I unplug the patch cable now thinking the Stock ECU is dead and plug it directly into the stock harness. Car fires right up......

I now go in and remove all emanage wiring and set the patch harness back to stock. Continuity test all pins/wires again and they are all good. Go back out and try just the patch cable and same thing, Car will not fire!!

I'm lost at this point with this harness and don't know if anyone has any opinions on this. The issue is not with the Emanage harness but the Boomslang patch cable harness. It's just extension wires, so if it passes continuity tests then I would think it would work. Only thing I can think of now is one of the pin connectors inside the plug is just not making contact with the ECU pin....

    Check it out on Youtube!!

Are the jumpers set right in the emanage?

The only issues I’ve seen with the boomslang is there was an O2 wire wrong. Pretty sure it was an O2 wire anyway.

Yeah I double checked all of the jumpers and the dial settings. Everything is correct on the Emanage. I have two Emanage Blue's here and the issue happened no matter which one was connected.

BTW... I was going off of BlackStealth's Emanage Blue thread on the other forum. Most of the images are dead but the main ones for the settings and wiring are still there and that is what I went by.

Well that sucks, looks like you will have to sit down and trace every wire. Only other thing I could think of is maybe one of the male pins is bent and not getting a good connection.

Yeah you need some install directions from somewhere else to compare.

Yeah I have been trying to track some down but all of the threads regarding Emanage Blue are all from 2004-2005 and the images are all dead......

Hard dealing with old stuff sometimes and nobody works with it anymore?!?!? But it is a step up from my SAFC2 and does what I ened it to do without all the extra bells and whistles.

I'm going to try wiring it directly into the stock harness with the basic connections "No injector/ignition control" and se if I can get it running.

I had a hard time finding info on the blue also. It was a bit of a headache. I ended up having to get gatecrasher to help me out.

I'm going to try and get the basic wiring hooked up tonight/tomorrow. I'll know more then.

Damn that thing is hacked up. Who did you get that from?
