If by scales you mean mixing scales and arpeggios together and by over and over again you mean with incredible speed and precision, then yes, he does that very well.

Most of the "guitar shredders" play in that style for the most part. I think I would have to vote Michael Angelo Batio the god of playing the same scale over and over again until your ear bleeds out. He can do it on two guitars at the same time though so.. I guess I have to give him some credit.

Steve Stevens is another great one, but he doesn't get a lot of credit because he's played with tools like Billy Idol and Vince Neil. But check out this solo piece by him, some amazing guitar work.

Tom, there are TONS of amazing guitarist's that have shined in our day, and the days of old. Some totally forgotten are even Ace Frehley, Angus Young, and even Eddie Van Halen. Everyone has their favs. and I do to, but their all good IMO................except Kurt Cobain.

Umm... considering I've been on this planet about 30 years longer than you, I think I've had the opportunity to hear many more guitarists than you have. I could list 50 guitarists that you've probably never heard of that are better than Don Felder. Hell, he's not even the best guitarist in his band, Joe Walsh is.

Fail....Felder isn't in the Eagles, anymore.

Felder can play circles around Joe Walsh....give me a break.

Dimebag Darrell could smoke both those guys with his eyes closed, however, he is dead. Felder isn't really active anymore and Walsh hasn't put out anything since 07.

If you want to compare guitarists from way back when, Stevie Gaines trumped both of those guys if not 90% of guitarists back then easily.
