remind me guys I have to run the drag calculations on the open hatch at 200.

Pampena 3.5 Stroker, GTX 2867 Gen IIs, AEM Series2, oohnoo SMIC, DN Hardpipes, FIC 1650s, Walbro 525, aermotive fpr, Dejon intake pipes, Tial Q, Koyo Rad, Samco Hoses, Stoptech 332mm fronts, HKS GT4 Coilovers, Spec 4+ LW, JDM 6 Speed, Billet shift forks, Pampena brace
Only pic I have of the idea I'm talking about. pretty sure it's also on every NASCAB but haven't looked for a pic.
it's covered in ducttape, blocking air from getting under lexan window and from entering the car between hoop and b-pillar. I can't seem to find the pic of the one that goes all the way to the seat head restraint. NASA GTS ruleset means that aero is almost unlimited and small reductions in drag are highly beneficial. You'll see some interesting solutions to common track car problems like open windows on the top cars, since HP is capped.
Fun thread, not sure how I missed this one!
This:
+ dyno.jpg (sans 60hp, similar poweband)
=8700rpm in 4th gear
Then switching to a FMIC a year later:
yielded another 8500+ 4th gear pull and a respool in 5th, so roughly 6000-6500rpm? GPS not confirmed but logs showed 198 according to VSS on the first run, 2nd was unknown as logger froze.
Would I do it again? No, way to sketchy.
Windows: Up
Notice: Vehicle surprisingly solid, little bit of wiper blade flutter and it was loud!
Road conditions: Flat, and in Canada![]()
i don't trust a 3/s to run solid at 200mph. they're pretty solid at 130, but not 200. 3/s is not a veyron. you boost power high enough, and you get a pretty good idea when you're outside the design tolerances.
I'd even move that threshold to 150mph with proper brakes and suspension; which at the time in 2006 I thought I had, but now know wasn't true (amazing what happens when you get older).
It is an amazingly solid car for what it is, but for certain not designed to maintain those speeds in comparison with other cars. In comparison to a TT viper GTS with 800/800 at the rear tires for example: The Viper felt more solid from a chassis perspective, except the power and the road made it sketchy as well.

worst part is the moonroof cars over 110 or so start making quite a whistle.
Hmmm, will investigate...![]()
Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

yeah...mine is aftermarket, and it's no exception. the frameless windows don't help either.
I don't know my car was solid at 160mph.
here is saf running close to 300km/h.
