I thought I remember reading that his partner owns the jigs, and design.

We both "own" the design, but he has the drawings and the welding jigs.

A couple of months ago, I thought about trying to contact him, but I let it slide....

The last time I did speak with him, I mentioned that we would have to be competitive (pricing) and I never heard from him again (I guess he wasn't willing to his share of the $169 shipped price I told him I wanted to meet....)

How much would he want for the drawings and jigs? This is such a great product to let it go because someone wants to be stubborn/selfish/greedy/what-have-you. Would it be worth buying him out?

Agree Two kids in college + one kid starting college next year = justification for side business selling shifters.

If you both "own" the design he should be willing to give you the drawings. Maybe you could find a new partner to make the jigs
