Can't see last page on forums - Firefox

So there are many threads, on here and on the "other" site that I can't see past page 1.

Both sites I have the maximum posts per page in my settings, here it is set for 40 posts per page. If I click on say 2 for page 2 of a thread, it just reloads page 1. If I click on LAST, same thing, reloads page 1.

If I open the thread in IE, it never has an issue going to whatever page I want. This has been going on for a while. What gives?

Here is a thread that is doing it now, and works fine in IE
    http://www.3sgto.org/f54/time-start-...ain-10845.html

and yes, when I hover over 2 for page to, the link that it shows it will go to is page 2.

Trying to replicate the problem on my end.

What happens when you visit this link? (which is currently the last page of the 'armory' thread when the max posts per page is set to 40):

    http://www.3sgto.org/f11/armory-thread-575-15.html

When you access it directly, does it still redirect you to the first page of the thread?

Saw your updated description. Page 2 of that thread does display for me in Firefox with the max posts per page set at 40. It currently shows two posts: one from you, and one from keo92stealth.

This wouldn't explain the difference between IE and Firefox, but just a thought: do you have anyone on your ignore list? What's the last post you currently see on page 1 of that thread in Firefox?

I have no one on my ignore list.

post 40 was fine, which is max. Then KEO replied pushing it to page 2. When I clicked the link in my email it went to page 1 instead, slick 2 or last, same page 1. Copy URL to IE, worked fine. Since I knew the reply via email, I quick replied, then green lantern replied making post 42 and 43. And now it works fine. This has happened on many threads, and happens here and on 3si. and every time I copy url to IE it works fine.

Very odd. I am pretty sure it does it on my laptop as well.

So when Keo posted, you couldn't get to that page to see his post or was it showing on page 1?

I know there is an issue with the forum software where it will say more pages then their actually is. You try to click on that last page and it takes you back a page. This is due to posts being deleted "But actually are not" from the thread. Admins can still see those posts when they login. The bug is in the code that controls the pagination is not excluding deleted post. So it creates pages to include all of the posts even the deleted ones that only Admins can see.

That's what I thought it was at first as well, but that wouldn't explain why it'd work in IE but not Firefox. I also remember this was a problem when certain users posted in a thread that were on global ignore - the thread pagination gets screwy for the same reasons you described.

Is anyone able to replicate what Chris is experiencing?

When Keo posted I got the email, so I knew what he posted. And it would be post 41, 1st post of page2. Clicking on the link in email took me to page one, that ended on post 40. No Keo post. Thread said it had 2 pages but clicking on page 2 or last would refresh to page 1. Not until I replied using quick reply to keo's post (knowing what was in it due to the email) was I able to get to page 2, where yes, Keo's post was there.

this has happened to many threads. Happened to my on my cancer announcement thread, I think mostly that was on 3si, and it is not just page 2, some threads do it when they get to higher pages, and it always works fine if I copy the url into IE and use that, but I don't like using IE.

And once again, it's doing it right now to this thread

    http://www.3sgto.org/f54/time-start-...ain-10845.html

Now there are more than one on the second page. Clicked email link and took me to page 1. Click page 2 and it's page 1, last is still page 1.

Went to IE, works fine, back to FF, and broke. Only page one will appear.

I thinks me read Greg say, "its all in your pagination".
