Maximal Stage 1 vs Stage 2 TC Bracket

Had a customer ask me what the differences were between the stage 1 an stage 2 transfer case brackets. Figured as long as I was snapping some pics for him I might as well post it up here.

The stage 1 bracket is the one we've been selling for a few years now and have gotten pretty good feedback. I've only heard of 1 broken TC with it and that was in a 700+hp car. There are plenty of 11 sec cars launching on this without issue. See the pics below of it laid on the TC (not bolted on of course so there are some gaps but you get the idea)...

The stage 2 bracket was introduced as a beefier stage 1 and to give people a bit added protection before going with an aftermarket casing. It has the most mounting points of any bracket out there, holding the front of the TC in place too...not just the midsection like the other brackets.

    Side by side comparison...

Both come with all the needed hardware.

If there's anything not answered let me know....

Only one way to find out.

At that point it probably makes more sense to go with an aftermarket case but to be honest I'm confident it'll hold up with my bracket.

Nelson claims a lot of things, granted he does have a 1400 awhp car, but even then there are plenty examples of people popping theirs with less hp due to the gears splaying themselves apart when the casing flexes under an intense load. This option could help ensure that the case stays rigid enough to prevent flexing, forcing the torque to go to the shaft, vs displacing and shearing parts elsewhere.

At the end of the day, you can run without one and try your luck, its your money and your car, but the cage brace is cheap insurance for a known failing point with our cars

Yeah, that's Nelson for you. I think my bracket is stronger than his so if you want to take his word for it....

Like arm0red1 says though...it's basically insurance. If you have the money for an aftermarket case that's the bulletproof solution for you. Lots of people don't though and in my mind these braces will mostly prevent any kind of issues you'll see without one.

Yea I would never launch my car without a brace atleast . Don't feel like buying another t case . Old parts break easy . The stage 2 brace looks good vs spending 1000 on cases I Will never really need because it will not be a track car . Just lots of roll racing more or less.

Yep, these are basically insurance for exactly what you want. The price for these brackets are a lot more reasonable than a new case.
