Really, how can anyone be so snobbish about racing they're willing to exclude drags?

    This is the pure shit.

Standing 60 feet away when a pair of fuel cars leave the line is an experience like no other.

really? i would have thought standing between catapults on a nimitz-class would have been the ultimate experience.

Don't know about Nimitz class, but I've done this on USS Enterprise CV(N) 65. Not even close. Not even in the same universe. Just my 1.5 cents.

Never been between two catapults on a carrier deck, but I gotta go with Milt, mainly because Top Fuel noise is not, I judge, reminiscent of any other sound I have ever heard, anywhere...the sound is difficult to assign even as automotive.

The noise at idle - 2K+, here - verges on other-worldly.

I'd almost say that no one who has never heard an alky-fuel car run would tumble to the sound's origin.

I'll bet God's chain-saw sounds just like that.

Do not forget the chest pounding when they leave the line. EPIC

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!
