Hmm.. Sounds like something has been bypassed then. no security light and trunk does not set it off. The ETACS are the same for all years so you might want to see if any wires have been tampered with. Security light not coming on may be that the bulb was removed or the Stock alarm has been bypassed to never arm itself.

the etacs may be the same, but i am sitting here reading the oem wiring repair manual and it states there is a theft deterrant alarm relay and theft deterrant starter relay that were "options".....so i guess i have to check to see if those are there to see if i have a theft deterrant system. or atleast, that is my next step.

Hah... I just looked at my wiring diagram and noticed the option. Never seen one without it.

I'm in the process of replacing my stock keyless with an aftermarket one and have been staring at the wiring diagrams all morning. Never even noticed the option...lol

Mine didn't have the passive alarm. I also don't think the passive alarm became an option until late 92 when they started offering keyless entry.
