In IL 98 and older cars are exempt from testing. Plus I have FlashECU...I can change the periphery settings.
Not completely true. SD2.0 is much better then SD1.0, I ran SD2.0 on my Evo for years. Then I went to a Vipec. When I tune evo's on SD its not bad at all. As long as you have your MAF settings right you can get SD dialed in pretty quick (yes the MAF tables are still referenced). The low down stutter issues were big when it was first patched to SD, some (most) of them came from doing SD on a ROM that belonged to a ECU that didn't have a MAP sensor, so the code was added. Using 941 was much better then using 965. While not as smooth as my Vipec is, its still smooth. It does have a couple hickups every once in awhile, but for the most part nothing is wrong with SD on the stock evo ECU's.

Pretty much, I was more targeting the long time to dial it in part, and for some reason got side tracked and said the same thing you did pretty much lol.
Doesn't take long at all. If you have never done any type of SD setup I could see it being a little hard/time consuming. Once you have a gasp on what is going on, you can tune it pretty fast even with having to turn the car off every time.
SD2.0 is still better then SD1.0. The 3D map that 2.0 gives you, gives you a ton more control over the 2D map of 1.0

I've tune SD on the EVOs many times before. Got something very different in mind for us.
