The Flying Kiwi (another build thread)

Time for a little bit of a catch up

Many many moons ago (may 2010), I managed to score myself an immaculate GTO.
1996 5 speed AWD, non turbo...with a genuine 42,000kms on the clock (thats about 26,000 miles for you lot)

A couple of months later, I picked up some new wheels. 19x8.5 +35 DTM Axis in gunmetal with polished lip on 245/35R19 tyres

And a month after that, I got bored of the sheer power of NA and moved up in the world...to a TT

Picked up a TT wreck with 130,xxxkms in otherwise good mechanical condition.

Took a week off work and got the TT conversion done, engine loom and all

While I was at it, I swapped over the leather interior (which I had always dreamed of)

Next up - a set of BC gold adjustable coilovers and 3sx adjustable control arms

Next up I was getting the sound system in shape.
I got a pair of nice discrete kicker 6.5" subs which tucked away nicely in the rear 6x9 enclosure
And a Soundstream amp which would hide under the rear carpets

Onboard atom nebook based carPC with datalogging

Jimmied the 7" screen in there

Installed......and ofcourse the downside to combining a daily driven car and a windows PC

Skip forward to March 2011, it was at this stage that the performance bug started rearing its ugly, expensive head
Replaced the dirty old side mounts with a nice shiny FMIC

Found myself a couple of twin tip mufflers

One thing led to another, and I whipped up one of these....and so began my love for sticking bits of steel together

As a birthday present, I bought myself a couple of these Evo III TD05 16G and this was the plan

So I got myself a couple heads reconditioned

And also got a spare 2 bolt shortblock rebuilt

Stuck it all together, and plopped it in....

...along with that I had a 6 speed drivetrain fresh from japan

    Cant forget the gear knob

A 280km/h instrument cluster, also from japan

And a nice shiny new clutch. Exedy HD pressure plate, stock clutch plate

Along with some more go fast bits:
    Emanage ultimate
    MAFT and 3" GM MAF
    Evo IV 560cc injectors

Next up came a little bit of body work
Front bumper getting a bigger mouth

Add a hoop spoiler, filling and drilling new holes in the boot lid+repainting, this is where it ended up

Oh yeah, the wheels ended up gloss black too.

And a new badge to finish it off

I decided to ditch the twin TD05 and went to a big single T4 setup instead.
Picked up a freshly rebuilt T04/TA51 hybrid with a twinscroll T4 flanged 0.63A/R exhaust housing

Got to work with the welder and made this lot

Used a intake plenum from a 6g74 diamante to move the TB to the LH side

And this was the "finished" engine bay

Fast forward to now, I wasnt happy with how slow spooling the turbo was....sure it was fun, but it was just dumb to drive as a daily
    Original ideas were

    Big turbo and little turbo

    Big turbo and supercharger...toyota SC14 with a 3:1 overdrive

I settled with a triple turbo setup, plumbed up to have the boost compounding

    And in the car
