Truly tragic, and unbearable to see happen. My thoughts and prayers are with all involved. I'll leave my politics at the door on this as there is a time and a place, and there is. I am so sorry to all affected by this, a week from Christmas no less. Reminds me of a tragedy in my own city a few years ago that happened at the same time in December, no more than a few blocks away from me. :'(

How many hundreds will forever link Christmas with sadness, despair and guilt? Sadness for the loss of their loved one; despair because they will never see or talk to them again; and guilt for having survived..........

    If I could trade my life for theirs....................wouldn't need to save a million......just 27 would be enough........................but I can't....................................

I think this is the most horrible of these types of tragedies to yet occur in this country.

The loss is beyond any comprehension, and the surviving children will carry scars that put them at risk the rest of their lives.

Adults have generally developed some sort of grieving process, but what of these kids?

Some of them will eventually find themselves in need of help that can neither be given nor received, and, Lord help them, they will carry anger they can't assimilate the rest of their lives.

The perpetrator took many lives outright, but has also damaged the rest, irretrievably and forever.

    So, so, sad.

Condolences have no voice for a trespass of this magnitude, so I can only pray...for those who are now gone, and those left behind.
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

I look at it a bit different. IMO, the media (and everyone) needs to back off. Stop giving people like this (mass killers) attention. Let the families have some space. But, no, the media is so obsessed with ratings that they have no couth, whatsoever.

It's shit like this, media, that makes me despise your scumbag profession:

At risk of going down the rabbit hole in this thread: I don't blame the provider, I blame the consumer. Would the "media" be in the position if the general public didn't clamber over themselves to see what shouldn't be seen? What is the relevance of drug dealers if not for the end users?

this. not to argue politics, but this. one of the reasons i am firmly against social media is because those sites (especially twitter) focus on the banal, insignificant and shocking---rather than substance. i cannot exclusively fault our mainstream media for catering to this mindset.

This is the list of the victims of the school shooting. I have 3 kids of my own, ages 8,7,& 5, and to be honest, i do not know what i would do if anything like this would happen to them. Being a father and a Marine causes me to be very emotional about things like this. My family and myself pray for everyone affected by this tragic event. Even now, I am very upset of what happened.

Video games - specifically first person shooters. Get rid and ban them all. They have done nothing but desensitize our youth and sharpened their tactical skillz.

    Uhh, JohhnyTurbo.....

I have probably played a few thousand (yes thousand) hours of violent video games, as have lots of my friends. I am positive that between all of them not a single one would commit a crime like this.
