    Stock Keyless entry troubleshooting

I finally got my hands on a good replacement key FOB but I am unable to get it to function properly.

The key FOB I got is FCC ID: E4EG8DA and the controller in the car is FCC ID: E4EG8DB Part # MB920442 so they are the correct FOB/Controller.

I set the switch to Set 1 or 2 hold down one of the buttons. Set it back to Fix and nothing happens..... The battery in the FOB is good and it lights up when a button is pressed. I pulled the controller and replaced it with another unit same model/FCC and still nothing.

Any ideas as to what I should check?

I really want to get the stock system working properly as I hate not having a key FOB.

    Check it out on Youtube!!

I just had this same problem this morning with a customer car. He ran out of time before I could fix it. I tried all of the same steps. Remote is brand new from Ebay. I felt like a retard not being able to get this to work haha.

Yeah mine is also brand new from Ebay. Stupid controller has no means of telling you if something is not right or if it even works to begin with!!!

Same with me, But I don't know if it's the remote or wiring issue... You have other cars you can test your remote on correct??

Was the door closed? Won't work if the door is open.

    From Dave Black's site

Behind the rear panel you should see a box in front of the rear speaker - this is the receiver unit

Remove the receiver from the car body

Find the switch labeled SET 1 - FIX - SET 2 and move the switch to either SET position. (the two SET positions are in case you have two transmitters with different codes)

Press any button on the remote transmitter

Move the switch back to the FIX position

    Test the new remote transmitter

Reconnect everything making sure that the antenna connector is tightly connected to the receiver
