Man, those bolts add so much flair to it all.

We follow the earth. The earth follows the stars. The stars know their way and though the body dies. The stars will remain, like the waves of the sea and restless slate.

The bolt pics remind me of GTwizard.

    Beautiful and painstaking work, Jim.
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

Yeah I got the idea from GTwizard and also IPS (Stas) and figured if shops can do why not individuals. It's a little harder for an independent because you probably do this only once and you don't have the intimate knowledge of where every bolt goes like GTwizard does.

I had >50 bags of bolts that I tagged when they came off the car and I took pictures of what was in every bag so I could sort them out later. Still tough to get it right as I didn't try to keep track of the size and pitch that carefully. But keeping track of the strength rating proved to be enough.

The main thing is it's going back together completely clean of dust and oils and anything that was showing corrosion was either repainted or plated. Yes I am OCD but maybe not as bad as Dbest671 (April) haha.

IDK you might be passing her as we speak lol. I'm supposed to see her this weekend, we'll see how much she has done to the spyder. If she brings it that is, it might rain.

LMAO... I think I have officially talked myself out of bringing the Spyder this time. It's just a lot of "work" and gas to bring it. If you lived closer we would just drive it there. Plus it's 50%+ of rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning... we load the Spyder on Friday and unload it on Sunday.

And Jim, watching your build makes me want to drop the engine just give it a thorough cleaning LOL.

I devoloped this skill after owning 3 DSM's, it comes naturally after playing with cars enough, It's very nice skill to have especially when you loose a bolt, or you go to the hardware store to replace a bolt and you forget to bring the bolt for comparison. Speaking of which, I must keep missing it but where did you get those bolts? my local Ace Hardware has a awesome selection of Metric dress up nuts and bolts and things in stainless and chrome (including studs) but I don't like that then the wrench sizes all change to 1/2/13mm, 9/16, etc. I enjoy the uni-formality of every nut and bolt on my car is a 10, 12, 14, 17, or 19mm. No exceptions lol.
