Got them from timingkit@aol.com on 7/1/2009 for $120. Probably found the link from the old 3S site.

Dropped my block, crank, and heads at the machine shop. The block is getting tanked and honed, the crank is getting micropolished and the heads are getting a valve job.

Haven't decided if I should replace the lifters. Plan to call Ninja and discuss.

Ninja says test lifters before replacing. They should all present a high resistance to compression when pumped up with oil.

I want to talk mods. Here are my plans for now. Main thing I'm not sure about is whether the DR650 is overkill. My goal is to max out 91 pump gas. I won't be racing the car, I just want to keep it a grand tourer with a stock appearance.

    Forged bottom end
Stock heads (new cam and rocker)
Full bolt off rebuild, complete set of new gaskets and seals
120K done with new oil pump
    DR650 billet turbos
    EVO 560cc injectors
Denso pump (RDR hotwire with 2nd resistor), stock FPR
K&N FIPK, EVO 399 MAF, stock T Body
    Stock manifolds
    3SX SS downpipe
AEM Wideband 30-2310 UEGO (no display, log through Evoscan)
    Gutted rear precat
    Stock cat
    IPS 3rd gen catback
    99 clone ECU
    New poly motor mounts
Stock SMIC (might consider DSM SMIC)
    Stock oil cooler

Stock SMICs and stock oil cooler has me a bit confused. Especially the stock oil cooler. The stock oil cooler is barely adequate for stock power levels, you'll want an upgraded cooler in my opinion.

Right plus since you'll be buying a new one anyhow, you can pick up an upgraded aftermarket for less than stock.

Yeah Jim, I would look into a Maximal or GZP oil cooler. Since you have to replace the current one anyway, as I would not trust trying to clean it, the aftermarket ones perform better and are a little cheaper.

I would also talk to Bob "Oohnoo" about some DSM SMIC's as the stock ones will be worthless on DR650's.

I would also talk to Terry about their High Flow Cat. The price is really good and it will really help the turbo spool.

Edit: Just remembered you didn't spin a bearing...lol

Edit 2: I did the test fit for the Maximal SMOC and there is a HUGE difference in the core size. Probably double the capacity.

Do the SMOC fit with the DSM SMIC? Have to talk with Ohnoo.
