I purchased a long 7/8" combination open/closed end wrench from sears (craftsmen). I may have broke it by adding a large adjustable wrench to the closed end. I also cut the wires, spinning it was a pain with the plug on it. Was still a pain as its tight, but DOABLE. I also picked up O2 sensor socket from Harbor Freight for under 5 bucks, nice for the rear bank o2.

Got replacement OEM from RockAuto, but Mean Green's solution is much better $$$$

Well I got them out, was a huge pain in my arse. The rear o2 sensor was cross threaded making it a lot longer then I expected. Front was a lot easier after soaking it in PB Blaster and let it sit for 3 hours. I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND 22MM WRENCHES! A lot less likely to strip the o2 sensor which made it so much more difficult, I am just glad I did not have to torch the housings.
    vroom vroom i drive a 93 toyota mr2.

I used the 02 sensor remover as well, but found that heating them up first with a torch worked really nice. After you take the heat away, wait a few minutes and then try and tighten it! This breaks it free and then everyone of mine came right out no problem.

Just replace front and rear on my fiances car to pass smog. Used the Auto Zone rental [$25.00, refunded when you return it] crows foot attachments.

Once the front one is loose you can put an open end wrench on it from underneath like Atrosity says.

If you use ARP Ultra Torque assembly lube on the threads it makes them real easy to install, plus it handles high temperatures and has anti-seize properties. Love mine.
