Your favorite non-3s DD

My favorite DD was my 91 Stealth R/T. I hated to sell it but needed the money to finish off the TT and I had to many cars i the driveway according to my wife.

Now I am really enjoying my 2010 F-150 STX. I was glad when I got back into a truck. it was much needed!!

My favorite was my '84 Nissan Maxima. RWD, light, handled amazingly well, and was in the family for 25 years before we finally sold it in '08. It had 340k miles on the original motor and trans. I used it as a DD during the summer before my senior year of college while I was working on my ATX TT. I miss it.

As for you truck guys, I'm interested to know why you enjoy your trucks. I have an '02 Explorer as a DD currently and it's been very reliable but nothing enjoyable. I've never really been into trucks but when it's time to buy another vehicle I will probably need something with room for three in the back (two regular car seats and an infant car seat) so a truck is almost a given, especially since I would like to have something to tow 6000+ lbs with. If I had to choose from any truck it'd be an Ecoboost F-150. Diesels seem nice but maintaining them can be very expensive.

My favorite DD was my 98 New Beetle. I beat the piss out of it, and it just kept going. I really miss that car.

Ya I can't really get into the trucks, either.

My 1994 SL used to be my daily until I sold it and got the VR4. It was my DD/only car until this semester when I decided to park it and just use public transportation/friends/my bike to get around town during the school year. Now this is my weekend ride: Recent image by HoseDraggar1 on Photobucket

I agree with the Jeep guys, we have an 04 GC Overland as my wife's DD, and we normally use that for just running around town for errands on weekends too. It's also the car we take when weather is bad, hauling the dog around, or if we know we'll be going downtown and run the risk of door dings, etc. Has the Quadra-drive tranny/tc, the high output V8, and still can use 87 octane. Being the Overland, it's also got a surprising amount of luxury to it, even some features that we don't have in our Cayenne.

Only gets 17mpg according to the onboard comp, but since we can use 87 octane, it's actually the cheapest of our cars to run.

i miss my 93 YJ something awful. it had the exploder 8.8 in the rear with disc brakes, ~6.5 in of lift on 35's, and about a million little things done to it on top of the big stuff. it was a great vehicle

I haven't had a vehicle worth mentioning since my last Mustang, so I basically haven't enjoyed anything.

Had an '89 McLaren Grand Prix when I was travelling - it wasn't much, but it did have a Getrag 5-spd.

While the stealth is my work car, we have an F250 diesel for family duties. I have ALWAYS had a truck, for all of the afore mentioned reasons plus some...dogs, motorcycles, trash runs, pick-n-pulls, boat towing, friend-stuck-in-ditch recovery, etc etc etc.

Before the 250, we had a 150 SuperCrew but found a killer deal on an RV 7 years ago, and back then 150s couldnt handle 10,000 pounds on the bumper...not that i would do that now, i dont care what the stated tow rating is

Sounds like the newer 150 would do you well, we like how the back seat folds completely flat in the 150, but sad it does not in the 250. Other than that, i would disagree about maintaining a diesel being more expensive. You may spend a bit more on oil changes, but more than make up for it when towing

Well I love my Silver 07 Chevy Trailblazer SS... 400 HP in an SUV is fun. The 13 mpg i get on premium not so much.

Luckilly I get a take home 09 Impala for work. Free gas, insurance, and maintenance is nice

Kinda neat hearing everyones DD's.. Definitely some nice cars and good perspective.

I currently have a 2001 Ram 1500 Sport with the Off Road package. Sits about the same height as the 2500 with the bigger wheels and slight 2" lift the off road pack gives it. Does lots of stuff my stealth can't including hauling/towing, and can pretty much go anywhere. So anyone who's thinking of getting a truck as a DD I would recommend it

Had an 84 F150 with a 351W 4 barrel in it before this. Loved that truck to death and still miss it. Old trucks/cars have so much character and history.

Wouldn't mind having a STi as a daily or an EVO. Also like my moms 04 Matrix Xrs 6spd. Pretty versatile fun little car.
