This is my house in NJ for sale @ $125k.

45 FERN ST, Browns Mills NJ 08015, MLS #6099085, Weichert.com

It is nothing compared to yours. NJ homes are expensive. I also paid about $2400/yr in taxes on that, which is CHEAP for NJ.

Im paying 7000 this year in property taxes, kinda ridiculous.

Living in Louisiana is cheaper, Alabama or Mississippi even cheaper

A house like his in Essex County NJ would cost around 500k, and have property tax of around 17k/yr.

Well that county has Newark in it... my feelings are that social welfare drive up property tax... cause in the county I live in that borders Essex, taxes are less than 1/3 that, but home prices are higher.

NJ ALMOST capped property tax at 2%... but it never made it into law. Chris Christie was pushing that.

We have San Antonio close, but were not zoned for it. If we ever get zoned for SA, were moving. I think we are close to paying 2% though.
