Some more casual progress and 1 question ...

Mounted a buckeye halotron fire extinguisher using a universal bracket from The Bracketeer. It was relatively quick work with the vice, hammer, hand drill, and paint to make it work with my absurdly custom seat. The extinguisher is in a spot where maybe I can use it if I ever need it. It's a small chore to position and install, but I can remove it extremely quickly. It's a small volume so I'll need to be quick and precise...

Otherwise, I inspected and popped on the new slave. I'm waiting for an FCV-2000 to arrive so I can see what sort of AN adapters I'll need.

Removed the coil pack and PTU with the intent to hotwire and install HKS DLI, but quickly realized that the HKS DLI harness was already modified to fit our coils (thanks JRink). I looked up a few pictures I could find for reference and tossed it together. If the DLI works, I doubt I'll find the motivation to bother hotwiring.

I used what must be an old paint stick (looks like a large white crayon) to fill in the numbers

I need to get some electrically/thermally conductive grease to reinstall the PTU.

Question 1: Anyone know the install torque for the PTU's 2 mounting screws?

Question 2: If this is my battery, is there a size down from it that's a little smaller in the length and width but the same height with the terminals in the same spots? I don't really want to go to a compact battery, but I'm okay with sacrificing a little battery performance to get a bit more room.

I love that mount for the fire extinguisher. I've had one stuck between the seat (loose) for years lol. Where did you get the mount?

    The Bracketeer

I suspect it will be a 10 minute install for most people. I was just happy that it was universal enough I could easily modify it.

    Awesome! Love it

BTW I tried to find the torque for the PTU in the manual and couldn't find it. I like to use factory torque on most things but honestly I'd just do goodintight.

Agreed, but it's screws were obviously low torque. Probably in the 6-12 in-lb region.

That little detail of filling in the numbers on the PTU adds a lot! I like it.

I run a group 51 battery, which is about the same length and height as stock, but is about 2 inches narrower and about 10-12 pounds less.

Would it be possible to swap the screws for bolts? That's like the first thing I always do.

Adam, Steve (2fnloud) may have some insight on workable batteries.
