Probably won't see much progress in here for a while. All I've got to install is the 5 bar MAP sensor (EGR-T pin on ECU) and the WOT Box. Once those are installed I can start thinking about the track again

Finally pulled the trigger on the supertech valve springs (stiff, single). Ray will have them soon so he can assemble my heads. The short block is also complete, just needs assembled. Ray can take his sweet time and still finish before I'm ready for this engine to arrive

What was your decision process for these single springs vs dual?
    1992 Kilder Green VR4 - First 4G swap in a 3S. 2.0, auto, awd. 9.65 at 143mph. Now LS swapped. 8.52 at 162.

They're readily available, the price is right (ninja), they're a smaller diameter than stock (no bind issues), they're closer to stock stiffness than 3SX's or BC's (reducing timing belt/eccentric pulley problems), and they have a better reputation than BC. Shrug. I have no plans to ever rev beyond 8k.

Adam - I may have missed a post, but I just realized I never asked what your expectations are; are you resurrecting your car (nicely), or are you looking to resurrect the project?

    Heading for the 9s?

Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

As always with this car, it will be a compromise. From a power perspective, I want to take that next step, which is a fairly monumental one in terms of cost, and get into the 700+ AWHP range reliably. Honestly, mid 10's @ 140+ would make me happy. Really though, I won't be satisfied until I'm back on this list:

I know where some DR-950s are to help you get there. Bolt-on for your setup and everything. I think there's more to be focused on other aspects of the car than power to get a lower time but that really falls down to how many other areas of the car you don't want to modify. If it were me I would see what slicks, a dialed in coilover/suspension setup, some more weight reduction, a non-piggyback engine management using NLTS and launch control, and plenty of passes down the track improving the driver mod would do. A 10.57 is already excellent but I'm sure focusing in the right areas plus practice can net another few tenths.

Yeah, chasing a couple more tenths is kind of where I'm at with E16G's on the stock block. I will absolutely take it to the track, hopefully a few times, before I make the 3.5L plunge.

More weight reduction? Probably not happening. 3250 lbs with a full interior and functional AA spoiler is good enough.

NLTS and a 2-step will be installed in the next couple weeks (another piggy back, screw it)

If anything, I'll replace my K-sports with OEM+lowering springs and Duke(?)'s ECS controller.

All I'm really missing in terms of big dollar items is cams, adjustable cam gears, and non-OEM differentials... Which is kind of a lot.

I've been out of the loop for a few years. Glad to see you're still in the game, Adam. Best of luck getting back into the top 10.

Since you've done all the research, I was wondering if you felt comfortable running the Supertech's with the OEM tensionser?
