Just noticed my oil pressure gauge at the end of the run (bottom left of the 6 gauges in-dash). It's bouncing between ~8-bar (holy shit, 116 psi) and ~6 bar (87 psi). Is this the pressure relief valve of the oil pump doing its job? Or a gauge issue? Or..?

Glad to see you got some runs in. Wish I could have made it, but I was at Wurstfest...

    I'd bet on gauge issue

damn thats a shit load of timing with that much boost...im running 12 degrees of timing at 5500 and then ramp up 3 degrees per 500 rpms till redline ending up at 18 degrees...and your motor has been together in piece the whole time.!!

I'm gonna give it hell next summer...see what she does with mid 20's boost and some real timing. Thanks for sharing!

It will be interesting to see how much boost its really running...that map sensor seems out of whack

It stayed together this whole time with timing like that on C16 ...Based on the logs of my initial dabbling into E85, I'm lucky (if) I didn't do any damage on these runs. The good news, is that including the 2 passes at the track, I've only made a handful of pulls into 3rd at this boost & tune. These are the 1st logs I've reviewed, lol

My oil pressure gauge behaved the same on both complete passes I made at the TX Gathering

How about putting some more air in the tires to try and spin through first of the line?

How much oil do you have in the pan again?

There's a chance it's slightly over-filled. I drained the 10w-40 redline and without replacing the pretty damn new filter, added 4.5 quarts of 20w-50 vr1. It took about 4 quarts to reach the full line on the dipstick. My oil cooler sits sideways, so I over-fill a bit, guessing its volume is 0.5 quarts.

I noticed it dived down and not shot up. Sets alarm bells off in my head, sure looks like what happens when the pickup starts sucking air. Such as what would happen if the level was lower than optimal and all the oil getting trapped in the heads at high RPM.............should be able to be tested stationary. Foaming from overfilling I don't think would stop diving in pressure so fast as soon as the RPMs dropped a little.

Hopefully a loose electrical connection...because that's the best option vs a fluid supply issue.

If it could be tested with basically no load (stationary), shouldn't I see it in 1st or 2nd gear too? It only happens at the top of 3rd, but then keeps bouncing a bit on decel...
