I think you're looking for this one. Back story: broke the t-case the week before at the track, so I removed the driveshaft and used my welded center diff to make the car FWD. I raced that mildly modified 600 and got yanked because I roasted the front tires at the top of 2nd. I didn't stop his pull until I was in boost in 3rd, which took a while thanks to having to shift out of 2nd. The other, trailing bike, was an '09 600 gsxr if I recall. I raced the gsxr again a few weeks later and pulled on him. The EVO is the shop car of a local t00ner, MZM.

Re-he-heally... Any comparison pictures? It came out of a '92 with ~60k and looks perfect.

luckily Mr. Jack has an article on it:

Jacks Transmissions LLC — Synchro Types

The only way you can tell syncro wear is to push a new one on the gear, measure the gap between the syncro and the gear with a feeler gauge, then compare to new.

I also noticed you can go by feel. A gear with a worn syncro will be easily to turn while pressing down on the syncro in your hand. A good syncro will be almost impossible to turn the gear.

So before the Texas Gathering begins on Friday, I need to restrain my shoulder harnesses.

I couldn't find a spec, so I used 5/16" steel rod to quickly make these (driver's side shoulder straps are much wider than the passenger side):

    install & future paint zone:

I reinstalled the windshield wipers, dashpot, and cleaned the engine bay. The entire rest of the car is still covered in dirt and oil.

We follow the earth. The earth follows the stars. The stars know their way and though the body dies. The stars will remain, like the waves of the sea and restless slate.
