Thread: Offered a 350Z for my 3000GT! Needs an Engine though...

DId all the damage it has happen all at once? Did he lose control racing it and over-revved the motor while downshifting into the wrong gear, spun out and jumped a curb? Cause what I am saying is that it could have more damage to other stuff like the suspension, transmission etc. Might cost more then you think to fix if thats the case

I have a feeling there is something......not legit? Just check it out well because this deal sounds pretty good. Your car is very nice though.

    okay, sorry.. Keep the SL.

whats wrong with the SL? lol, you dont need to go super fast... you already have a good looking car, you dont need the 350z to look cooler.

    I wouldn't call a 350Z super fast. Especially a stock '03.

I have to say though I cant stand the part about your dad being able to change the engine for free. It still is a suck job whether he is your dad or not. I do all kinds of expensive repairs for friends and family for free so I know what its like on that side. Do your dad a favor and work with him every step of the way. Tell him you will do all the work, all he has to do is tell you what to do.
I do work right beside my dad. I will actually end up doing most the work but he knows the specifics. As far as the z , I have been doing research and they'd have a lot of problems with the 03. however is does not have the "revup" engine which wad known to burn oil. I am going to look at the car tues and will know more. the title is clear. as far as my car I love it, I just want more HP and if all went well this would work. but like you said a cracked wheel and blown engine means something on the previous owner . should I offer straight up trade if it
s bad or no. I mean a z has more resale in the long run than I'm ever going to get in my s

typed on my cell so excuse the grammar and capitalizationl.
Ahhh, One last fix. And it would literally be perfect for ......prolly a week BUT! thats still a week of perfection.

Will do, I will post better pics and things once I go and look at it.

While I know I'm dating myself posting this, my first car was a V8 Vega that I built myself. I loved that car, and was very proud of it. But when the opportunity came up to trade it straight across for a 70 SS 396 Chevelle with a blown motor, I jumped at the chance... The difference in value was just too much to pass up.

I don't like 350Z's at all... But the math says you'd be an idiot not to trade if the car can be brought back from the dead with a small investment. If you get it running and saleable, you can get enough out of it to get yourself a nice 2nd gen VR4, and have cash left over...

Exactly, If i do not like the Z or even if I do, I can just sell it and make that profit to buy that 94 vr4 I have always wanted. My economics professor would kick my a** if I didnt make a smart financial decision such as this. My concern is like i said before "why". If it needs the things listed (a engine and rim) and it works fine great! What if it needs a trans now....I mean thats what concerns me. I wish I could go over things such as this when I see it but there is no way of testing that without starting it.

Just KBB it: In fair condition it is $9,850. There was not option for poor.

There's so much hating on the Z's . I'm a little bit biased I suppose, but I say you should go for it. Once you get it fixed it'll be a good car. Z's are very reliable even the 03's which is what I have so I wouldn't worry about that too much. And like everyone else said you can still turn around and sell it for more than your SL anyways.
