Is this a good computer replacement!!! I don't know much about this product but has been recommended to me. Your thoughts Ideas etc would be good.

I've basically only done a IPS Evo 3 kit with 18g's and all supporting mods.

this is a great ECM, but it is only as good as the person who is tuning with it.

I use one, we actualy run them in every car we can. It is one of the best mods you can do in my opinion. Check out my sig, AEM gets results.

When it is tuned properly, the car feels 100x bet in every way. It idles better, runs smoother, gets better mileage, and makes more power.

I've basically only done a IPS Evo 3 kit with 18g's and all supporting mods.

It is not a "replacement" as in plug it in to replace a bad stock ECU and go. It is a full standalone and will need tuning for your setup which is not a 1 hour deal and can cost up to and over $1,000 for the tuning alone. It also is NOT OBD compliant, so if your state requires OBD testing during inspection/emissions then your car would fail.

Thanks for that I respect your input - yes I figured it was a complete re-program from the get go. I live in QLD Australia and our cars are only ever safety checked when you first purchase a new car (there's always someone who will turn a blind eye here). The other States here have one every six monthly...

Why in Gods name would you buy an ecu that's pretty much tuned in the states and NOT an ecu from Australia which are regarded as the best in the world?

Don't get me wrong, AEM EMS is good from all reports from 3/S guys, but why when we have the good stuff local?
