...when you sit and remind yourself you own a TT and how glad you are that it's not something else? Is it a waste to like my car as much as I do with it being a base?

I'm glad I don't own a piece of shit. Honestly, I'd probably be happy with a base or SL as well. I don't really need anything fast, I just want something fast.

I love my TT, but my other car is a FWD Turbo LeBaron. I've spent $14k on it so far and I'll probably have spent a little over $20k total when it's done. The point is, if you love the car fuck what everyone else thinks and enjoy what you have. After all, it's not the 3S is the black sheep of the Japanese sports car world too.
I love every minute of it, but its what i want. There is nothing wrong with a base either, if you like it then thats all that matters. Judging by your sig pic, its a really nice looking car.

No, it's not wrong. Besides...
You could always make it a TT.![]()
I cannot convince myself else wise.
I enjoyed my NA all the way until I got the VR-4. I can tell you dont miss the FWD at all.
I own both, and I love the base! It is lighter and more nimble IMO from driving both... It is no where near as fast, but at the same time it is nothing to laugh at... It is more refined than any Honda that is 10 years newer, and handles 50 times better than the BMW I test drove before I bought the Base... that being said, since I have the TT I will sadly say goodbye to the base, and I will miss it terribly! So, NO NO NO, it is NOT a waste to love your base!!
