Well it looks like this auction idea is gaining some ground........Well a lot of people have come forward to pledge stuff anyway.

Anybody have any ideas on how we could do it? Maybe an ebay page with all the stuff people donated. When the auction ends and Chris or Vicki confirms payment the person that donated the part sends it out? Maybe to save them the hassle of dealing with it we could use somebody else’s paypal and ebay account then just forward the money to them when it’s over.

Should I start another thread to talk about this?

A seperate discussion thread would probably be better so we don't distract from this one.

Since Jrod got it started on the other site, I felt it only fair to respond there first with the following:

Would like to take a minute to say thank you again. We had an appt today with the Hematologist/Oncologist and he prescribed something for Chris' increasing pain and thanks to the donations, we were able to get it filled. Hopefully, he will be able to sleep tonight. I cannot express how much you guys are helping us, not necessarily in a monetary sense, but with your encouragement and your support.

Since we spend the majority of our time here, we are just beside ourselves with the support that you guys have garnered for Chris. And while he has been a big part of the 3S world for so long, he has not met every single owner yet many of you are still showing up with well wishes and positive thoughts. Being someone who has never known how to shut up, I am struggling for the right words...........and probably will for quite some time.....

We live in a house we got for 29K, have a few vehicles but besides the 08 corrolla the others are worth all of a few thousand a piece. Our cell phones are not smart nor do they even have text or data plans. We have no cable or satellite nor HVAC. We don't go out to eat pretty much ever. We don't have health insurance. Nor do we take trips. We live within our means. And spent a lot of money on the service garage (did it cheap but that was still a lot of money). We thought we good. Then this. We were floored, not only (mostly) because it is what it is, but after that shock we didn't know how we were even going to pay for the ER, hospital rooms, DR. visits, drugs etc. We have been very optimistic I would kick it's ass, but the financial part was something that could really eat away at the psychy.

Then all your friends show up and just overwhelmingly surprise you with encouragement and support. Again, I am at a loss for words to express what I really feel.
We will have a cookout to celebrate when I kick it's butt.

    Thank you all
    Chris

Do you have a Catholic hospital there? Typically, if you can't afford medical treatment, they will send the bills to the Catholic Charity.

I'm assuming that you cannot apply for Social Security...so Medicare is probably out the door.....

Is this an option? South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
