Custom 1st gen stealth bumper cut/remold + fmic and some info on how I did it.

(Posted this over at 3si and figured I'd post it here as well, I like to get opinions and maybe spread some knowledge)

So it started with a new fmic. Then I wanted to do a bumper cut...Well eventually I landed on doing a complete remold. I used a variety of SEM products for hard to bond plastic repair. I decided to invest in some product (~120) because I wanted to do some other things later and I was curious how well they work. Turns out they aren't too bad just takes a lot time, sanding, blocking, etc. I still need to do more but I was eager to get a coat of paint on it just to see how it really looked before I spent more hours. This will be fine for the rest of the season.

    the before

    and the after!

I ended up cutting this piece out.

and moving it up, then filled/smoothed the rest.

Yeah I think I'm actually going to remove it since I decided I'll repaint to the real color anyway

It would look better if the headlight lids were still black and snake eyes were unpainted. It makes it look too much like an ES.

ES really? I had a red ES and I guess I fail to see the connection I actually can't stand the black roofs and lights, I think it ages the car too much.

Symmetrical? I'm guessing you mean the gap above and below the crosshair? If so yea, I had looked a few photo shops and to me I stuck with it lower. It looked better to me that way. Plus it was much easier because I didn't have to do anything to it

As always to each his own but I'm generally interested in comments! otherwise why post right?

i just figured since you went to so much trouble to keep the crosshair, i thought you'd try and move the crosshair up too. lots more work though, for sure.

i plan on splicing 2 bumpers into 1 in the future....
