Question CAMERA - What do you shoot with?

NOT looking to start any brand wars here, we all have our preferences and even various reasons as to WHY we ended up with such.

Simply wondering what everyone shoots with?

Personally, I currently have a Nikon D200 and Nikon D60 Evelyn shoots with. A decent arsenal of lenses. 3 flashes. Also an Olympus 1010 pocket cam and a Canon A3100 pocket cam Evelyn has.

    Lenses:
    Nikon 18-135 Lens
    Nikon 24-70 f2.8 Lens
    Nikon 24-85 f2.8-4 Lens
    Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR Lens
    Nikon 70-300 VR Lens
    Nikon 50 f1.4 Lens
    Nikon 18-55 VR Lens
    Sigma 10-20 Lens
    Cosina 100-500 MF Lens
    0-360 One Shot Panorama Lens

    Flashes:
    Nikon SB800 Flash
    Nikon SB600 Flash
    Sunpak Manual Flash

Also have an old arsenal of Minolta X-700 and XG-1 and about 9-10 lenses with that manual focus film setup from years gone by.

Yeah - I have one camera and two lenses. A 75 - 300 Pentax and a 17 - 70 wide angle Sigma. It does the job for me. I have so much to learn about this photography game.

I've been very happy with my 70-300 VR. Have used it for almost all of the NG pictures the past 3 years, so there's the sample. I honestly get mixed results when shooting air shows with it, though, but I think it's just me getting the settings right on it and tracking an object going 500 mph! LOL!

I shoot with a D200 and a D2xs too - they get just about everything done in good light - but I am tempted with the later generations with variable exposure over the frame. D3s or the replacement for that might be on the cards if the GT ever stops draining my cash!

I have nailed my kit down to three lens'

    70-200 F2.8
    17-55 F2.8
    50mm F1.8

I shoot a lot of motorsports and also usually carry the Nikon 1.7x TC

Canon. Just always been a Canon user since way back. My dad gave me my first camera in high school - a Canon A1. My last film camera was a Canon Elan 7E. Just doesnt make sense to switch brands all these years because all the controls are second nature. Currently my lineup is:

    Canon EOS 7D
    Canon EOS 50D
    Canon EOS 30D
    Canon Rebel XT
    EF 24-70mm F/2.8L USM
    EF 28-135mm F/3.5~5.6 IS USM
    EF 50mm F/1.4 USM
    EF-S 15-85mm F/3.5~5.6 IS USM (x2)
    EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5~5.6 IS
    580EX II (x6)
    420EX
    Alien Bees B800 (x4)

Currently shooting with a Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD. Looking at upgrading to a Canon 50D when I have the extra money - partially because my father shoots with a 30D and I'd love access to some of his lenses.

you will love the 50D but you have to hurry. the 60D came out and Canon will slowly phase out the 50D.

the 60D is a good camera, but its commonly now known as a "super rebel", partly because its not as fast FPS wise (1 FPS slower), has a polycarbonate (read : plastic) outer shell compared to the magnesium alloy body of the 30D~50D.

here is a side by side comparo of the two:

the 60D does have the articulating screen, which is Canon's answer to Nikon, as many of the lower to mid grade models now have. the 60D also uses the more expensive 7D/5D MkII battery, so if you want to save on your purchase, get the 50D soon.

I'm new to photography. I recently dumped my point and shoot Canon S50 for a Nikon D3000. I'm not happy that it's not a full size CCD but it's a great camera for a beginner like me. I only have one lens right now and that's the standard 18-55 than came with it.

Cool, appreciate the info - will have to see about speeding up my timeline.
