    Oil Pressure Gauge issue?

So, for as long as I've owned my vr4, I've had a problem with my oil pressure gauge. I finally decided it was time to fix it, but dont know what the exact problem is. I've searched and searched, and couldn't find anything on my own. Anyways...

At engine startup, while the engine is still cold, it shows normal pressure. Or at least what I assume to be normal pressure, the needle sits somewhere near the middle. As the engine warms up, the needle slowly drops down to the bottom and stays there at idle. When I rev the engine, or drive the car normally, the needle goes back up to normal. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

    The stock guage is useless.

    Get one that shows PSI.

I know that the gauge is useless... just like 50% of the other crap that Mitsubishi put on our heads-up display area. Aside from that being an obvious issue, which will be remedied soon enough, is there any other possible reasons for the gauge doing this?

What alan said...the older the gauge gets the more of a chance for it to fall out of calibration. Until you replace the gauge with a good aftermarket one you really won't haver a clue off what its really happening.

That sounds pretty normal to me. It's high at the initial start because the oil is cold and thicker. When it heats out it thins out and you lose some pressure. When you rev it it goes up because at an increased RPM the oil is pumped quicker and you get more pressure than normal.
