I have made over 800AWHP on a stock 60mm TB and stock Plenum. I don't see the need for large plenums and TBs unless you are looking for huge power.

With larger TBs your throttle response is increased and can be too touchy. This is because the same percentage of throttle plate opening on a 60mm equates to a lager area opening on a 70mm.

If you do it, try it on a junk manifold first, there is a good chance you might go to far.

On the stock evo manifolds the Buschur TB is the biggest you can go 67 mm i believe, as once you match it there is about 2-3 mm left on one side, just enough to seal. The 70mm TB that just came out for them actually misses the flange on the stock mani, and would never properly seal. However the hole is slightly offset on them as well.

I am going to try it. My TB seals are leaking and I have done full vac reduction and don't use the nipples, so it's not too much more expensive to just buy a new TB than to disassemble and rebuild the old one, cut off the nipples and have them welded shut. I doubt I will have any before/after numbers, but I can give you some "driving feel" feedback on if it makes it feel better or worse.

On an N/A though, Dont you want a bigger TB? As it'll allow more air to flow? (correct me here I have NFI on fluid dynamics) and especially since i'm putting 272's in it, it'll be able to suck more air in, and a less restricive intake should be better? I still use the OEM air intake but I'll ge the 76mm one if funds allow. I like the use of all stock components

With N/A I thought the larger TB's effected the low end torque.

For my situation, I'm aiming for more WOT performance, normal driving I'm not fussed if I loose torque down low, In a 3.5L you have enough, but I see what you mean if it's a 3L....they don't have much low down torque.
