    Carbon Fiber Sail Panels

This is my very first time working with CF, and my first test panel.

A few corners are less than ideal, and the weave got a little boogered up on the bottom right corner. But overall, I'm pretty happy with my first attempt

If I can get this down a bit better, I may start offering these up for sale if there is enough interest.

Just an fyi, those are dusty finger prints all over it, I was a little eager to post pictures and didn't really clean it off well

    Second attempt

It's just a CF overlay I take it? Looks really good. Make the front peice that goes down the A-pillar too... and R/T sails... oh gawd that would look so good!

The 3000GT sail panel is the flatest and reasonably small piece, so it was a good panel to start with. Once I'm comfortable, and find a good method, I'll be wrapping a-pillars, Stealth sail panels, I want to attempt some side mirrors, roof overlays, etc. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself though, I want to crank out at least one GOOD set first

    Looks nice!

If you get a 99 sail you may find a good market for that too. I've always hated the fake window. It's so easy to just replace it with the 99 sails.

It's those damn little curves that are killing me. I got a lot of air bubbles too Did you use actual CF or a vinyl wrap, then clear it? You put tape on the edges to keep them from fraying or something?

yea always tape the edges to stop fraying ,carbon cloth is a bitch to work with, once the resin is on you can actually rub it in your fingers to a paste or get some serious splinters and itching man its bad shit.ive overlayed alot of parts in the car but for me its alot of work so i dont do it for many people unless its something simple,i have a day job and my own car to get ready for shows the carbon wheels are on the go just now as in the other section ive posted up.this post should be moved there aswell mods

    keep up the good work
