Fail: Spyder Top Retract Cycle Stops N Fails After Qtr Rear Windows Retract

    all,

Forgive me for being lazy..but this might be useful...so I'm going to cross link to my posts in the colorado3s.org forum..

    this issue was:
in our '95 Spyder, during the top retract cycle .. the rear quarter panel windows would retract but then the sequence would stop... and the top wouldn't move..

the problem was solved as follows:
    http://www.colorado3s.org/index.php/...8.html#msg6948

This issue surfaced of course during the first show of the car at our local meet:
    http://www.colorado3s.org/index.php/...2.html#msg6902

    duke3k

p.s. if you own a spyder - get the JNS Toplink interface to allow you to run the mitsu diagnostic software for the Top ECU ... there was no way I would have been able to solve this problem in a day without it.

One more thing to add on behalf of duke3k. Moving the reed switch fixed the issue because the magnetic field was not strong enough. Duke3k posted the solution to the Yahoo 3000Spyders group which was taking a very strong permanent magnet (salvaged from a dead harddrive) and re-magnetizing the magnet through a series of same direction strokes. After doing this the reed switch was able to move back to the original location.
