Nice work! I have modified 3 bumpers using this method, you will need to put a wooden batten across the bumper ends to stop it opening up (widening) to keep it to the exact dimentions as when fitted to the car as when you go to fit it you will crack the filler by bending the ends in to fit , heres my current rear bumper done this about 2 years ago.

nice! but it needs a lower-profile spoiler. that one makes the car look too tall, as would a 99 wing.

Thank's, the project took about 30 hours, I did all the work with the bumper off the car and once installed I had to modify the bottom of the bumper 3 times to get it right, when I do another, once the foam has been cut and profiled I'm going to cover it with f/glass matting and resin 1st before applying bodyfiller, it will give the foam areas strength and will handle small impacts with less chance of cracking.

enigma that looks awesome, good job! I used some fishing wire to hold the sides of the bumper together at the width of the mounts, overall it worked very well. with the way i'm doing mine it wont have to be overly precice as the whole thing is going to be fiberglass, the pics are just a plug for the molds.

I'm doing the best I can for pictures on this one, I've been working out of town off and on so I don't have all too much time to work on the projects right now

Are you asking about the foam he's using to shape? If so, that stuff is called Great Stuff. You can find it at home depot/lowes or walmart, it's used for filling, sealing holes or voids in homes and around window edges and what not. It also makes a good foam mold as well, like he's doing.

Personally, if you're going to be doing big foam projects, use 2-part expanding urethane foam instead of an insulation crack filler. (You can usually get it from a boat building supply store)
It'll be a bit stronger and easier to make big blocks out of.
