My overall view of Black Ops after playing it for about a week.

From an initial standpoint, the game looks good, really good. New maps that put together well. Some new weapons and an interesting plot for the whole experience, online and offline (campaign). With that said, the game is bunk. I have never ran into a game, even on launch, that had so many problems with it. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be, "unsmooth." It's almost as if they took 300 days to build the maps and weapons, and then took the last 65 days to throw together the rest of the system while sitting around a table smoking ganja. Horrible. It's hard to say where to start, or even end for that matter. However, I'll try to illustrate some of the main bullet points.

First, there is constant lag. Even with a good connection you feel like there is a chance you might be on dial up. Watching a killcam of yourself dying looking the same as what actually happened on your screen happens, well, never. This goes both ways. You can find yourself shooting another person on the opposing team with registering shots over and over again. Then, they turn around shoot you with two bullets come killcam. Frustrating doesn't merit justice on this issue. Then, Treyarch has the problem with making a game that is user friendly, as I am sure a lot of you know. This is no exception. In fact, it might be groundbreaking. Between not being able to invite people randomly, losing game sound for no apparent reason, losing your ability to stay in parties, the painstakingly long time to formulate a party, etc, etc, etc gets quite old. If you plan on playing with other players of your choice, clear out your calendar as it seems to take decades to get a streamline game in motion. As much as I'd like to (and I would, and could go on for some time), I won't go into much more detail as I know there are people that wouldn't read this otherwise. My final thoughts? The game has some fun new concepts for the COD series but simply can't put them together worth a damn. Almost as if Ferrari engineers designed a car and then handed the blueprints to Russian automakers for the final product.

Finally got it working and love it so far. I'm not having any lag issues online, though I do see the PC forums are full of people complaining about it.

    THIS!!!!

Sums up most of my impressions as well. Its funny though I have a habit of playing the campaign first and it was fantastic but the online is so choppy, its almost as if the hardware is having issues with processing the software in Multi-player mode.

I haven't bought it yet and won't until they patch the shit out of it. Looks like COD is going to become the Apple of FPS; that is to say a POS that everyone buys because of the name.

That being said I found the new MoH extremely disappointing (and I played both the invite and public betas) They should have used the campaign mode game engine and controls for multiplayer.

I guess there is no winning.
"This is a ridiculous cause and effect suggestion."
"Yeah, kind of like the sun rising and then morning happening, eh? What are they trying to pull on us?"

"If I wanted to hear from an asshole, I'd fart into a microphone."

"It's easy. Take the last f*ck, and let it go, and thus you shall have no more f*cks to give."

What platform is this on? I've heard mixed things on the 360, but I've had nothing but smooth gameplay on my PS3, same goes for most of my friends.
