The fact he gets burned about gun crime and mass shooting statistics and his rebuttal is: "Do you really need a magazine that can hold 100 bullets?"...that's when you know you just lost HARD.

    Exactly and precisely, Alex.

The difficulty is, no one who was in attendance cared.

Maher will forget it the next time he discusses guns, and it'll surely never be mentioned around Michael Moore, if Maher ever again invites him on to overload one of his chairs.

We follow the earth. The earth follows the stars. The stars know their way and though the body dies. The stars will remain, like the waves of the sea and restless slate.

What's on the list? Are prices finally starting to come back to reality yet?

Prices are down. Still a touch high, but not the $1,500 for a $799 Bushmaster/DPMS stupidity that was going on.

    Here is my list.

I am getting the lower and upper from a friend that ordered the months ago but didn't use them on his build so he is going to sell them to me. Which is why the price for both are 175 since I don't know the real price of them.

Back around 1960, my folks bought a 640 acre plot w/farmhouse on Lake Huron, about 35 miles south of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.

While scouting the property after moving in, my dad found, in an old ramshackle hunting cabin, three boxes of Eley Brothers (England) pin-fire 16 Ga shot shells - one box was full (100 empty shells), one had 88 shells, and the third had 9 loaded shells in it.

He's been hauling these things all over God's creation since then.

He called me a while back and asked if I'd help him find out if they're worth anything, so I scouted around Ebay, etc, and found pinfire shells of various European manufacture selling for anywhere from $5 to $25 each, some rifle cartridges and an empty box from an Italian or German company selling for $700; not much beyond that.

Asked around my circle (I have several real firearms-wise buddies), and my friend Nigel suggested talking to the people at JD Julia (big auction-house, with a heavy-duty firearms division), so I emailed them the relevant details - took them two weeks to get back - "Well, it's a very limited market, not many people, blah, blah, blah...".

I sent the guy some pics, and he sends me a full-bore fapper fan-letter, 'holy shit, you may have struck the pin-fire motherlode', and he thinks my Dad's little trove could fetch upwards of 10K.

    Neat, huh?

Auction will be in October; I'll try to remember to update.
    Well then.

No jackpot, but it got the 2K reserve - less the vig, a tidy sum. not too bad for carting them a few thousand miles.

we already do background checks on every gun purchase. and as far as metcalf's point about "regulation" on other constitutional freedoms...that's a load of hooey. the "regulation" he speaks of is merely a safeguard against the freedoms of another being infringed upon. "human sacrifice" clearly violates another's life. "libel" is not freedom of speech, nor is yelling "fire" in a crowded theater--both of which impinge upon the life/liberty/pursuit of happiness by another individual.

the most violent areas of the country are those with the strictest gun control laws. people need to wake the fuck up.
