No, I don't wish I lived in Europe. I don't use parking garages often, but when I do it would be nice to glance up an aisle and see those occupancy lights.

How well do they work? Do they pick up on motorcycles and Smart size cars?

yeah, so far Europe is like 1 good idea per 687 bad ones.

-parking garages that are smart enough to know when the parking spots are filled on each individual level (yes, they work on small vehicles)
-highways without speed limits
-left lane hoggers are dealth with
-roads that crave driving a small, nimble car (sucks to be you, mr. f-350)
-bike trails EVERYWHERE
-3 function windows
-rolladen
-solid brick/block interior walls in every home
-residential aesthetics that make US houses look like they were designed by unimaginative 3rd graders
-recycling programs that actually work & don't charge people EXTRA to recycle
-full-on use of the metric system
-left hand or right hand drive cars are available in most areas (even though RHD is only standard in the UK)
-fly to another country for $35 euros
-delirium, the worlds best bier
-football that doesn't have a play stoppage every 15 seconds
-women's fashion. nuff said.
-relaxed attitude about sex and public nudity
-movie theaters with intermission (and serve bier). ALL of them
-frozen pizza--hawiian variety--from dozens of brands.
-cheap alcohol
-robust train system

hell, the only things i don't like about europe are:
-stupidly high tax rates which prop up social welfare
-restaurants that treat water like a precious commodity (.2L of water costs more than .5L of bier).
-lack of soda fountains
-lack of drinking fountains

there's a LOT more awesome in europe than most people realize.
